However, I can’t help but notice that the line graphs are slightly misleading. The points for “Percent of freshmen who are Hispanic/Black” for the least ethnically diverse universities are proportionally much closer to the baseline 0% than they should be. This not only exaggerates differences between universities, but artificially exaggerates the length of those universities’ college freshman/HS graduate line.

This is already a grave issue that in my opinion, did not warrant any further embellishment, even if subtle.

It’s disheartening to see per your data that the gaps are getting longer, despite some universities’ efforts. I’m a Hispanic male who was fortunate to graduate from UC Berkeley in the early 90’s. Three decades later, as a public educator, I’m still advocating and fighting for change by helping Latinx students to pursue higher education, knowing all along that they face an uphill challenge. Thank you for reporting on this topic; I will share it with my students.
